Prime Rib - 4 Stars In NC visiting family and we came here for the Prime Rib Special on our last night. The Prime Rib was seasoned perfectly and cooked Med Rare the way I requested. The mashed potatoes and green beans on the side seemed overcooked or maybe just been sitting under a heat lamp awhile. Wine List was excellent with some perfect wines for the Prime Rib pairing. We had the Caymus - Cabernet Sauvignon and the Duckhorn - Cabernet Sauvignon. And I was so glad to see that the markup on the wine was reasonable at 2.5x retail price, well worth it. Outwest serves steak and a bunch of other selections but I don't think of it as a Steakhouse. To me, Outwest is a family restaurant that serves good steak at a reasonable price and takes care of you like family.

Another great visit to Outwest Steak House. The food, service and ambiance are all 5/5. I ordered a full grilled chicken house salad with warm bacon vinaigrette, and my husband ordered salmon with mushrooms and a side salad. Everything was great! We didn't order a steak on this visit... They have the best steak around! My husband said the salmon was good but the ribeye is so much better.

Great steakhouse located in Kernersville. Some of the best service around. Steaks are always cooked perfectly, very flavorful and served hot. The crème brûlée is the best I have ever had, hands down. Out West has a nice classy feel. Parking can be a pain.

Love coming to Out West. Conveniently located in Kernersville, it's a nice middle location for meeting up with family. The wait times can get hefty during the busy season, but the bar area is first come first served, so even when the table wait time may be long, you could possibly snag a booth or table in the bar side. The restaurant is western themed, and the theme runs from the lighting to the wall decor. A mixture of tables and booths are throughout the restaurant. The bathrooms near the bar area are nice and easily accessible. We have eaten here a few times, and the seating in the bar area can get loud and makes it difficult to hold a conversation. The wait staff is always prompt and courteous. I have gotten their nachos before and they were filling enough to make my meal. This time I opted for their beet salad, knowing that the holiday sweets would soon be coming. I absolutely loved the combination of beets with the candied pecans, the soft cheese and the crunchy salad. It was a great meal option. I love that they have ribs on the kids menu so my little can have their own ribs without having to share. Their steaks are in a class of their own and reasonably priced. This is definitely a place we come back to and have the same quality of food each time, which can't be said with every place that serves steak.

Took my twins here for their birthday dinner this past week and had a good time! It did take a few minutes for our server to finally come take our drink order but once he realized we were there, the service was good the rest of the evening. They both definitely got steak (along with my wife) since that it what Outwest is known for and it was all cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I tried the grouper which was good but not exactly what I expected. I don't think the parmesan crust is necessary since the filet is basically sitting in a bowl of lemon caper sauce. The breading gets soggy and doesn't really work well with the sauce. The fish was cooked well but the dish was just muddled to me with the tomatoes and needed some texture or something to break things up. I think grilling the shrimp would help give it some added flavor and texture. My daughter ordered the shrimp and grits. The size of the shrimp was huge but the grits were not that great. It's almost as if the ancho chile and cheddar cheese competes too much with the parmesan cream sauce. Just too much going on I think and again I think grilling the shrimp would add a crunch/texture element that is missing in the dish. My youngest son ordered the kids cheeseburger and it is a great portion size. He could only eat half of it! We did order the potato wedges app and crab dip (did not get a picture of them). The wedges were good but I would prefer to have the ranch on the side so you have the option on how much to use as well as to help keep it cold. Warm ranch is ! The crab dip is very good but the pita chips could use a toast or something to crisp them up. We actually used the house rolls as they held up better to the dip. All in all it was a good evening and hope to go back somet

Stopped by for a simple meal with friends. Sat in the bar. Had great service and the food was awesome. I got the avocado salad and added shrimp it was huge! The bar atmosphere was great. Enough room between tables and plenty of space if you choose to sit at the bar. Outside seating is available when weather is nice. It's a decent place but a little pricey.

Amazing apps, good steaks, all around solid spot! I came here for a work dinner the other night. We were a party of 15 and although originally intended to sit inside, one of the hosts let us know there was a spot outside that would be available sooner. They have an extensive wine menu as well as plenty of beers and a standard cocktail menu. Not a huge deal at all, but I do wish they had some N/A / mocktail offerings, a lot of places are expanding in that area and I think it would be nice if Outwest did too! I settled for a diet coke though while everyone else mostly had beers and old-fashioneds. One person did get a blue motorcycle which looked pretty interesting. For apps, we ordered just about "one of each" (my foodie dream come true) - the prime rib sliders, crab dip, filet medallions, blackened shrimp, mushrooms, and we even went for the lamb entree (as a starter!). I also had a bowl of the French onion soup. App-wise...all delicious! Filet medallions were cooked and seasoned perfectly (also made me excited for my entree because I had arrived set on a surf+turf), the blackened shrimp and avocado salsa hit the spot. The prime rib sliders...so so good (meat was super tender and juicy, the au jus was just a bonus), and even though I'm not big on mushrooms, they were fantastic as well. I don't have lamb often, but when I do, it normally does not disappoint, and this was no exception. It was also cooked and seasoned perfectly. The bread and butter were good too - piping hot rolls and a slightly softened/whipped butter. And we haven't even hit the main course! Pretty much everyone ordered a filet/prime rib and lobster tail. I also ordered the stuffed tomatoes as a premium side. I only requested the 7oz cut but barely made a dent in it after sampling all of the apps. My filet was delicious, cooked medium, and the lobster tail was huge - a lot larger than I had been expecting. I will say flavor wise, nothing compares to a fresh Maine lobster, but this serving certainly compensated in size for what it lacked in that special Maine touch! And finally for dessert - their special was apple cobbler cheesecake. As enticing as that was though (and plenty of others did order it), I went with the oreo crumb cheesecake and was very content with that decision. Only made it about 3 bites in before asking for a box! To make a long review short, this was a great spot for a teambuilding dinner and I would definitely recommend it for a similar function. I'd come on my own dime, but I definitely wouldn't be ordering as extensively-ha! Service was great, friendly, and very hospitable. Glasses were never empty and it seemed that dishes were being served continuously!

Exceptional restaurant. We loved the service. Waitress was super helpful when choosing our selections. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection. The ambiance was super nice and chill. Love the western style design of the place. They do have a great selection at the Bar. Overall a perfect place for a good dinner with your loved ones.
